Embroidery on chiffon should be seen as detail and never felt as weight. Thread, sequins and mukaish catch the light, while the saree still flows as lightly as air.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the embroidery on these sarees done by hand?

On the Vintage sarees, Florise and our pure chiffon sequin sarees, yes. Each product page names the work on that saree.

What is the difference between sequin and mukaish work?

Sequins are small reflective discs stitched onto the fabric. Mukaish uses fine metallic wire twisted into tiny points, so the shine is softer and more scattered.

Is embroidered chiffon heavy to wear?

No. Chiffon is light, and the work on these sarees is fine rather than dense, so they stay comfortable through a long evening.

Does each saree come with a blouse piece?

Yes, a 1 metre crepe blouse piece.

How do I care for an embroidered chiffon saree?

Dry clean only. Fold it with tissue between the embroidered sections so the work does not catch or flatten.

Embroidered Chiffon Sarees

Embroidery on chiffon sits lightly. The fabric is soft and semi sheer, so thread, sequins and metal wire read as fine detail rather than weight, and the saree still falls in clean folds through a long evening. This edit brings together every kind of embroidery we work on chiffon, from ₹3,499 to ₹9,999, and each saree comes with a 1 m crepe blouse piece.

Thread Embroidery Over Florals

Our Vintage sarees pair a floral print with hand embroidery worked over the design, so the print gains texture you notice up close. Vintage Wine in maroon, Vintage Aqua, Vintage Orange, Vintage Green and Vintage Yellow are ₹3,499 each, and Florise in pink, the dressiest of the set, is ₹5,599.

Sequin Embroidery

For evenings, tonal sequins add shimmer without heavy embellishment. Each flower is drawn in a fine line of sequins in the same colour as the saree, and a slim sequin edge traces the border and pallu. City of Stars in royal blue, Starlet in wine, Final Act in brown and Leading Lady in dusty pink are woven in 100% Bemberg pure chiffon with hand embroidered sequins, at ₹6,999. Socialite in old rose, Rendezvous in yellow, Muse in blue and Enigma in dark olive carry the same tonal sequin florals on chiffon, at ₹3,999.

For a festive look, our gold sequin sarees set hand embroidered gold sequin roses on 100% Bemberg pure chiffon: Sapphire in royal blue, Ruby in red, Emerald in green and Midas in resin, with Lovelace in blush pink with rose gold, all at ₹9,999. See all our sequin sarees.

Mukaish Work

Mukaish, also called mukesh or badla work, uses fine strips of metallic wire twisted into tiny points of shine across the drape. It catches the light more softly than sequins and keeps the chiffon light. Encore in coral, Curtain Call in blue, Diva in olive green and Showtime in desert rose are woven in 100% Bemberg pure chiffon, at ₹4,999 each.

Where to Wear Embroidered Chiffon

Thread embroidery over florals suits the sangeet, mehendi and day receptions. Tonal sequins suit cocktail nights, receptions and engagements, while gold sequins suit Diwali, Karwa Chauth and wedding evenings. Mukaish works for both day and evening functions. See our reception sarees, cocktail sarees and party wear sarees, and our cocktail saree guide for full looks.

Blouse, Petticoat and Care

A tonal blouse keeps sequin work sleek, and a gold or contrast blouse makes thread embroidery festive. Chiffon is semi sheer, so match the petticoat to the saree where you can; if you have no match on a light saree, nude usually shows less than white. Dry clean only, and store each saree folded with tissue between the layers so sequins and wire work do not catch. Our chiffon saree blouse designs cover necklines and sleeves.
